Role In Hospital/SIMS:
Clinical Pharmacology has always played an important role in bedside treatment, drug level evaluation and follow up patients. It is being given more stress now-a-days at international level, so rotation of students in batches for Clinical Pharmacology should be done in different Units of Hospital, as is being practised in some medical colleges in public and private sector.
The head of department of Pharmacology Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) is also involved in conducting and supervising research projects carried out by postgraduate students.Recently the research projects approved by University of Health Sciences are as follows:
> A study of the effect of Cinnamon Extract Alone and combination with Insulin on Alloxan Induced Diabetic Albino Rats.
> Effect of Fenogreek (methi) on Lipid Profile of Hyperlipidaemic Albino Rats.
> A study of Diuretic Effect of Tachyspermum Ammi (ajvain) on Albino Rats.
> A study of Effect of Alpha tocopherol and Vitamin C on Strepzosin Induced Diabetic Albino Rats.
Some other research projects are being supervised and are in pipeline for approval by University of Health Sciences.
