Aims of Faculty:

> Establishment of PICU & Paediatric sub-specialties.
Role In Hospital / SIMS:
> Paediatric Unit 2, looks after the children admitted in the ward.It takes emergency calls and OPD clinics on every other day alternating with Unit 1, i.e. Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday.
> Facilities for Paediatric gastroenterology & hepatology.
> Neonatology Unit: Providing all kinds of facilities for sick neonates.
Recent Research:
> Gullian-Barre Syndrome in Paediatrics: Five years experience.A total of 130 patients with this disease have been studied till date.This is the largest study on the subject ever published from a single centre.
> Diagnostic upper digestive endoscopy in Paediatrics: One year experience at Services Hospital Lahore. This study is being conducted to look for spectrum of Paediatric gastrointestinal disorders as diagnosed on endoscopy.
Other Information:
The specialty of Paediatric gastroenterology is one of the two facilities available in the province providing diagnostic and therapeutic facilities for Paediatric endoscopy including gastroscopy and Colonoscopy.Patients are referred to this Unit from all over the province.
