Aims of Faculty:
> To impart quality medical education to undergraduate,Postgraduate students (FCPS, MRCP, M.D trainees) etc.

Role In Hospital/SIMS:
> Weekly medical emergency cover (Friday 6am to 6pm and Monday 24 hours).
> Routine Indoor practices.
> Morning outdoor Services (Thursday & Monday)
> 3rd year and 4th year Clinical classes.
> Daily teaching round by visiting consultant's professor/associate professor.
> Daliy ward /OPD/Emergency round by senior registrars/Registrar.
> Bi-Weekly Clinicopathological cases presentation by postgraduate trainees.
> Cases discussion with allied Clinical disciplines like radiology, neurosurgery and surgery etc.
> Periodic refreshment courses on different Clinical topics like ECG, CTS, Laboratory tests etc.

> Research on Eprosartan (ARB-1), its effects on Cognitive and Systolic Blood Pressure in Hypertensive Patients.
> A Case study on Atrial Tuberculoma.
> Topographic Pattern of MI in Sevices Hosital Lahore.
> Ankle Brachical Index in Diabetics in Services Hospital Lahore.
> Effect of age, Sex and ALT levels on outcome of interferon therapy in patient with chronic hepatitis C.

Aims of Faculty:
To provide best health care to all patients in concordance with modern research this is achieved by:
> Equipping the ward with modern instruments.
> Maintaining standards of sterilization.
> Providing free medical services to all patients admitted in our unit.
> Providing comfortable enviornment in ward for patients and make then feel at home.
> Interdepartment communication for patients evaluation.
> Discussion of problematic cases in group meetings with seniors.
> Teaching of medical students by assistant Professor in the form of indoor and outdoor classes and monthly assessment.
> To teach and train post-graduate students and house officers in the form of word rounds, weekly short and long case presentations, mortality meeting > E.C.G and X-ray classes and monthly lectures and professors class.
> To conduct research in different medical topics.
Role In SIMS:
> Diabetic management centre is being run by medical Unit-IV under supervision of Professor Dr. Faisal Masud.
> At present 18 post-graduate residents are being trained in the ward.
> Almost 30-40 house officers are trained in every 6 months rotation.
> One batch of 3rd year students is taught and trained each month according to schedule providing by SIMS (4th year and final year classes will also come in ward soon).
> we are providing upper and lower GI endoscopic facilities.

Diabetic Management Centre :
It is being run in services hospital Lahore by medical Unit-IV under supervision of Professor Dr. Faisal Masud. Its features:
> Average of 1500 patients visit per month.
> More than 150 parameters of diabetesmellitus are checked in each patient.
> Computerized record maintenance.
> Treatment according to modern research.
> Patents education regarding diet and other aspects of DM.
> Timing from 8:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m
> Gamma camera
> Doppler study (In future)
